Monday, June 22—Day 1
North American Departure
Depart this day from your North American departure point on your overnight flight to Europe. Night in flight.
Tuesday, June 23—Day 2
Orvieto, Assisi
Benvenuti in Italia—Welcome to Italy!
This morning you will arrive into Rome Fiumicino Airport. After retrieving your luggage and moving through customs, you will be met by your English-speaking guide who will be with you throughout your time in Italy. This morning you will travel by private motorcoach to Assisi, with a brief afternoon stop in the famous city of Orvieto, a hilltop gem rich in history and charm. Stave off Day 2 jetlag by a relaxed exploration of the stunning Duomo, famous for its architecture, frescos, and Eucharistic miracle. The group will then continue to Assisi, dining together after settling into the hotel. Night in Assisi (1).
Wednesday, June 24—Day 3
Assisi, Perugia
This morning you will take a familiarization tour in and around the medieval town of Assisi to visit the peaceful mountain Hermitage built by St. Francis, San Damiano, the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli—home of the Porziuncola, and the Cathedral of San Rufino. Next, you will travel to nearby Perugia for lunch and free time on your own to explore. This day trip will conclude with dinner together in Assisi. Night in Assisi (2).
Thursday, June 25—Day 4
Assisi, Florence
Today you will travel to beautiful Firenze (Florence) for a morning guided tour and lunch on your own.
Musician Track: Musicians will have rehearsal in the afternoon prior to an afternoon concert in Florence.
Traveler Track: Those not performing will have free time on their own to explore Florence before attending the afternoon concert.
The group will have dinner together in Florence before a late evening return to Assisi. Night in Assisi (3).
Friday, June 26—Day 5
Assisi
Today will begin with a tour of the Basilica of St. Francis including the upper church, lower church, and crypt. Your day continues with a cooking class in Assisi which includes lunch.
Musician Track: Afternoon concert rehearsal
Traveler Track: Free time in Assisi for non performers
Dinner together in Assisi followed by a concert in Assisi. Night in Assisi (4).
Saturday, June 27—Day 6
Siena, Assisi
This morning will begin with a drive to Siena, a morning guided tour followed by lunch on your own and free time in the afternoon. Dinner together in Assisi. Night in Assisi (5).
Sunday, June 28—Day 7
Assisi
Today you will begin with Sunday Mass in Assisi. Singers in our group will sing for Mass. In the afternoon, you will make your way to the Rocca Maggiore overlooking the city for an Olive Oil tasting. Dinner in Assisi followed by an evening concert. Night in Assisi (6).
Monday, June 29—Day 8
Assisi, Todi, Rome
This morning, the group departs Assisi for Rome. Along the way the group will visit nearby Todi for exploration and a midday concert. Lunch on your own along the route before arriving in Rome and settling into the hotel. Group dinner together in Rome. Night in Rome (1).
Tuesday, June 30—Day 9
Rome
Today you will begin with a guided tour of Rome with stops at the Colosseum, Basilica of San Clemente, and St. Peter in Chains where you will see Michelangelo’s Moses. After lunch on your own, the afternoon is yours to explore Rome or take an optional group walk to famous Roman sights such as the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and Piazza Navona.
Musician Track: Musicians will have rehearsal in the afternoon.
Traveler Track: Those not performing will have free time on their own to explore Rome.
In the evening the group will dine together before an evening concert. Night in Rome (2).
Wednesday, July 1—Day 10
Rome
Today you will have the opportunity to visit all four Papal Basilicas in Rome. The morning begins with a tour of the Vatican including St. Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, highlights of the Vatican Museums, and an optional climb to the top of the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica. This afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit the basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, Santa Maria Maggiore, and St. John Lateran Special Farewell Italia group dinner in Rome. Night in Rome (3).
Thursday, July 2—Day 11
Rome, North America
Though too soon, your Italian adventure has come to an end. Private motorcoach will be provided to Roma Fiumicino Airport for your flight home.
